For decades, Johnson & Johnson has been producing Talcum powder, more commonly known as baby powder. This talcum powder has been found to have traces of asbestos. Upon use, this asbestos can trap itself within various parts of the body, increasing the chance of cancer, the most common of which is Ovarian cancer. As little as one use of asbestos-contaminated talcum powder increases one’s chance of contracting ovarian cancer. Not only can Talcum Powder cause cancer upon skin contact, but airborne particles can be inhaled and cause multiple forms of lung cancer as well. With more recent studies providing undeniable proof of the effect of Talcum Powder on its users, multiple lawsuits have been filed against Johnson and Johnson to demand compensatory justice for those affected. To date, Johnson & Johnson has paid out billions of dollars to dozens of claimants, with thousands more affected awaiting their trials. Recently, Johnson& Johnson removed all Talcum Powder products from store shelves, increasing the likelihood of a large settlement to come.
